Klapperich, Marie P. Age 80, of St. Paul Died on 9-15-08 Preceded in death by husband, Clarence. Survived by children, Sharon Sherrick (Gary), David (Jan), Paul (Marge), Mary, John (Laura); 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Christina Freund and Sr. Dorothy Adams OSF; and many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10:00 AM at Holy Childhood Catholic Church, 1435 Midway Parkway. Visitation one hour prior to the mass at the church. Internment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Mary Adams ![]() at the Stacyville Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church, Meyer, with the Rev. Paul Otting of Visitation Parish of Stacyville officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meyer. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today at the Sacred Heart Church Hall, with a 3 p.m. rosary and an 8 p.m. Scripture service. Hatten and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements. Mary Adams was born July 15, 1890, at Meyer. Survivors include four daughters, Elizabeth Johanns of Osage; Christina Fruend of Meyer; Sister Dorothy Adams of St. Paul, Minn., and Marie Klapperich of Roseville, Minn.; one son, Mathew Adams of Tucson, Arizona.; 40 grandchildren; 107 great-grandchildren; 65 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Monica Lessing of Stratford, Wi. Rose J. Klapperich of Stacyville, entered eternal life on November 8, 2005, at the age of 91 at Stacyville Community Nursing Home where she had resided since April, 2002. A Mass of Resurrection for was held on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Meyer, Iowa, with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meyer. Rose, daughter of William and Julia Schrandt was born on July 10, 1914, in Stacyville, Iowa. She attended school in Stacyville. Rose became the bride of Arthur Klapperich, of Meyer, Iowa on May 6, 1936. Art preceded her in death on February 9, 1996. In addition to farm life and raising their family, Rose was instrumental in forming the Meyer Marvelettes 4-H club and was a 4-H leader for many years. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Rosary Society and in later years a dedicated member of the Sacred Heart Church choir. While her husband, Art, was custodian of Sacred Heart parish, she assisted him with planting and caring for the beautiful flowers on the grounds. Rose served as sacristan for Sacred Heart Church for many years. She worked at Stacyville Community Nursing Home for about 13 years, forging many lasting friendships. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, playing cards, sewing, keeping daily diaries, crafts, the Minnesota Twins, and watching her family grow. Survivors include her seven children, Gene (Marge) Klapperich of Lynden, Wash.; Mary (Richard) Leonard of Mantorville, Minn.; David (Barbara) Klapperich of Eau Claire, Wisc.; Daniel (Carmen) Klapperich of Spring Hill, Tenn.; Tony (Janet) Klapperich of Spring Grove, Minn.; Barbara (Steven) Kime of Austin Minn. and Annette (Richard) Hutchinson of Rochester, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother Robert Schrandt of White Rock, N.M. and sister-in-law Rita Schrandt of Stacyville, continue to remember her. With her passing, Rose joins in heaven, her husband Arthur, her parents, five brothers: Lawrence, Leander, Edwin (Pete) , A. Mike, Wilfred (Fritz) and four sisters: Connie Pitzen, Minnie Anderson, Alvina Theobald and Mary Schrandt. Memorial suggested for the Meyer Sacred Heart oratory fund. Schroeder & Sites Funeral home, St. Ansgar was in charge of arrangements. |
